Comportamiento hidráulico de cámaras de conexión

Este trabajo presenta el comportamiento del flujo en cámaras de confluencia de colectores de gran diámetro en sistemas de alcantarillado, resultante, del modelado físico de este tipo de estructuras bajo condiciones de laboratorio. Se analizaron diferentes configuraciones de fondo para la cámara de conexión y múltiples escenarios de flujo, identificándose los diferentes fenómenos hidráulicos a que se pueden ver sometidas este tipo de estructuras, los cuales, pueden ser indeseables para su estabilidad, durabilidad y desempeño. Se encontraron también importantes errores en el cálculo de las pérdidas de energía en la cámara a través del empleo de metodologías convencionales.
